The GIZ AU Programme Support to the AfCFTA Ethiopian Component would like to invite interested individual consultants to submit technical and financial proposals for consultancy services to conduct a Ghanaian market assessment for the Centre for Accelerated Women's Economic Empowerment (CAWEE), in accordance with the conditions stipulated in the bid documents.

Tasks to be performed by the contractor

The primary goal of this assignment is to conduct an outbound market assessment to identify opportunities for Ethiopian women-led SMEs to access the Ghanaian market, focusing on key sectors such as agribusiness, fashion, leather, jewellery, and gemstones; this will involve gathering data on markets, customers, and competitors through direct engagement and analyzing the findings to produce actionable insights and recommendations. In parallel, the assignment also seeks to carry out an outbound market assessment to identify opportunities for Ghanaian women-led SMEs to access the Ethiopian market.

The consultant will specifically assess potential market access opportunities for women entrepreneurs. The findings will inform strategic decision-making for CAWEE members while fostering their entry and sustainable growth in the Ghanaian market.

Key activities will include:

1. Conducting a comprehensive market assessment to pinpoint opportunities in the specified sectors.
2. Analyze the demand and market size for Ethiopian products (agribusiness, leather, jewelry, and gemstones) in Ghana, as well as for key Ghanaian products within Ethiopia.
3. Identify potential business and partnership opportunities within both the Ghanaian and Ethiopian markets.
4. Assess the competitive landscape and positioning of Ethiopian and Ghanian products compared to existing market players.
5. Evaluate the unique value propositions of participating SMEs and how they can be leveraged.
6. Identify the most effective market entry strategies and distribution channels for Ethiopian and Ghanaians SMEs.
7. Provide clear, practical recommendations and a detailed action plan to successfully entering and operating in the targeted market.
